    progressive enquery

I have a prescription for progressive lenses and it is written like this:
    vision de loin:
    od:
    (-5 -0,75) +0,00
    Os:
    (175 -1,50) -0,25

    vision de pres:
    Od: (add +1,75)
    (-5 -0,75) +1,75

    Os: (add +1,75)
    (175 -1,50) +1,50

I would like to ask if anyone knows what are the values between brakets? It is a prescription taken by an ophtalmologist.

What I'm assuming is this would be written in the US as:
    Distance
    OD: pl -0.75 x 005
    OS: -0.25 - 1.50 x 175
    +1.75 ADD

    Near
    OD: +1.75 - 0.75 x 005
    OS: +1.50 - 1.50 x 175

The parentheses must separate the cylinder component from the sphere .... and I would imagine that as an optometrist, you would know whether an ophthalmologist would be able to take this.

The prescription is from a French ophtalmologist, and I think that's not the solution. It might be some measurements at keratometry ...or other test?

I assumed that this was a spectacle Rx namely because vision de loin means "distance vision" and vision de pres means "near vision". Also, Keratometry readings wouldn't have values this low; afterall, it is measuring the cornea... ie: we should be seeing values closer to the 40-50D range. Note: I misread what you wrote earlier. I thought your post said "is it a prescription taken by an ophthalmologist ?" rather than "it is a prescription..." However, I still stick by my assessment. It doesn't seem like it could be anything else. Please someone repost here if they disagree with me.
