The doc needs to purchase a patternless edger

Okay so here's the deal, the doc needs to purchase a new edger by the end of the year. We currently don't have one at all. The only thing is he has a budget of about 9,000. And I want to go patternless. Any thoughts on who I should be talking/looking into?

You should be able to pick up a Santinelli 7070 rebuild for something close to that - but you'll have to look hard.

    $9K? Are u nuts?

If you are employed there, then you should budget at least a year's wages toward an edger.

IMHo. IF Leo Can't help you (and he's good!), try an entry level Nidek from Santinelli. They're on special for the same reason the doc wants the tax break!

Thanks Barry! Yeah you know I've tried my hardest to get a good edger through the past 10 years and if this is the best I can get out of him, than by gosh I'm going to take it.

Might also get a Horizon III. Don't forget to allow for things like a blocker, hand edger, supplies, etc.

Once you go patternless, you never go back. Be warned!

Big agree on this. There are times that the old equipment will work better than the new.
