    New Varilux Comfort

    Supposedly this lens is comparable or at least better than old standard V. comf. but feedback on the comfort users that we see dribble in ....is that they aren't seeing as well. 2 of 2 bellyachers with no technical reason on our side.

    What say any of you?

    I read about the new Azio for Asians....also on the web pg saw they have something lableled Indio, or India? What is this marketed for?

    :hammer:

    We tried ordering one vx comfort w/transitions lens for a patient yesterday. The Big E lab said no can do, we have to order both in new comfort. I called our independant lab and was told they new and old were interchangeable. I'll let you know the outcome when we dispense it. If they are interchangeable, then the only difference in the enhanced version is the "enhanced" price.

    For the most part we have not have any issues with the New Comfort, either people switching from the Comfort/Ellipse to the New Comfort/New Comfort Short or other/no previous progressive lens. The few complaints we had related to the vision in/location of the channel but that was 1 out of our first 50 fits, which was our office manager who rejects most changes in lenses.

    From what I've been told by my rep (and what I've observed)
    Comfort -> New Comfort
    Ellipse -> New Comfort Short

    slight changes in the lens relating to the channel and clarity

    As for the Comfort Enhanced, they add W.A.V.E. enhancements to the lenses to improve visual clarity.

    However, we have not had as much wow factor in the WAVE system then Hoya's freeform enhancments either with the original 360 series or the current Enhanced series, so we don't use those lenses.

    WAVE is not part of the Comfort platform. You want WAVE you have to use the Physio.

    CuriousCat - I have been hearing some amazing things about the Surmount lenses from accounts too. I am really stoked about offering Surmount it's been amazing in the offices that are using them.

    Comfort 360

    We've dispensed quite a few Comfort 360, and haven't had any problems with it. Majority of patients we put into it were quite happy with it. I had one returned but it wasn't because of the Comfort, it was progressives in general he didn't like (Comfort was our 3rd try at him in a progressive)
    Also, the one or two non-adapts to Ellipse 360 that I've had, I put them in the Comfort 360 and they've had no issues ever since.
