There a way to check what companies take what insurances?

Currently my office only takes VSP, but we're thinking of expanding into other insurance plans. I was trying to figure out if there is any way to find out what insurances nearby companies give to their employees (thus showing what insurances would be best to add).

I'm thinking there isn't a real way to find this information, but if anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate it!

    Thanks!

right... I suppose patient word of mouth is the only real way. I was just hoping for a way to list "eyemed - AT&T, Princess cruises... etc VSP - LAPD, LASD, LAUSD, etc." or somesuch. I guess that would be far too easy though huh?

A lot of times the employee can pick one of the few options that their employer offers!

You can also do it the other way around. In my parts, there are only 15 or so major insurances. Regence, Eyemed, VSP, United Healthcare, Optum Health, etc. For almost all insurances they have an online provider lookup tool if you're a member, so find a few people on each plan, look up nearby providers, and put that into a spreadsheet. Might be less work than calling each place and trying to get a list.

We accept assignment on almost every plan except for VSP, but there are only a handful you see more than once a month.

When I helped open a new office 8 years ago we signed up for every insurance under the sun so that we wouldn't miss anyone. With companies changing carriers every year to find a better deal you have to keep yourself set up to continue to serve your patient base plus hopefully add to it. Many times the VSP patient from last year now has Eyemed and vice versa.

Why not call the companies' HR departments, and ask them?
