Any confirmation of this? Did I miss it?
Thanks.
(Oh, by the way, I'll do a complimentary "who cares?" for those who will feel the urge to post it.)

I sincerely hope not, I adore my Coach rep. I'll have to ask one of my Safilo people what the scoop is. Where and when did you find this information?
That's what I heard starting in 2013, Luxottica takes over Coach. Hmmm..I'm seeing a trend here. I guess I won't be surprised when the next space shuttle totes the name LUXOTTICA instead of NASA.
...just point your nose to whatever you're looking at...
That's unfortunate because I really like Coach for it's classic styling and colors.
Who cares?
It's true.
I read that on EyeOverHeard this morning, and happened to see my Flexon rep a little later. He confirmed it for me, starting in 2012. We don't carry Coach in my office, so it's no big loss to my business, but it makes a huge statement. Coach is probably one of the top three names people call to ask if we carry (Oakley and Ray Ban are the others, then "Sarah Palin" frames). I would have had to purchase 34 pieces to get them back on our boards--no thank you!!
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
Argh. This is crap.
Dang Luxottica.
When can we expect the Anti-Trust lawsuits against them. Someone needs to fine one sometime.
Coach to Lux and Lacost to Marchon
I came, I saw, I left
Lacoste to Marchon? Are you sure? Charmant have only had the license a couple of years, and my rep who I saw about two weeks ago never metioned it...(And he is usually very upfront with this sort of info)
Big announcement in the local Marchon Reps monthly news letter. LaCoste to Marchon.........anyone else need a players card to keep up with the changes of "Names" to company's. Get's tired after awhile. Glad I don't tend to carry many "designer" names as opposed to designer eyeglasses (LaFont etc).
I came, I saw, I left
I love Coach. I hate Lux. I carry a LOT of Coach. This is a problem!
What this probably shows is that VSP is unwilling to pay top dollar for the branding game, and that Luxottica is way committed to it.
While there is no shortage of brand names to use, I can see the day that Lux buys all the "hot" brands.
It stops when we all stand up against this attrosity, we stop using Essilor, We don't carry Luxottica frames, We stop taking Eyemed and we do our best to keep our Pt's with us and not wonder off to lenscrafters. If it hurts there pocket books the"ll feel it and have to find Other pastures to destroy, we don"t have to get Lawyers and fight that way, we can do it Quietly, at no cost to us. There are other lines that are just as good, we just have to familarize our Pt's to them.
Our Coach rep was in yesterday and told us the news. It's true.
When we opened our optical dept. 9 yrs ago, we made the decision then: No VSP, No Luxottica, No Eyemed. I will admit, we do use a few Essilor products.
Luxottica will probably take the good brand and actually make a good frame to match it. Coach is so "meh" as is.
Then it will be on backorder, and you will have restocking fees, but the good news is that Lux will "allow" you to put in 48 pieces and pay in 12 months.
Sheer unadulturated brilliance:
Marchon's savvy countermove would be to take over the Vera Bradley Eyewear empire from Beitler-McGee! Just re-tag them Coach frames!

They may even dare to go below a 50 eyesize!
(Of course, now I'm gonna get hate from Georgia.)
Yeah, thanks. It wasn't my decision. I lost on that vote.
Big problem we no longer support luxottica so coach will now be going.... too bad great line for us.
