Memorable highlights from VE East 2002

See Jane. Doesn't Jane look familiar?

Pete had LASIK and seems to have a problem.

He asked this beautiful woman to get him a Coke when I left him alone in the Marchon Booth by himself.
She told him she does not work there. As Pete walked away he saw the ad regarding meet Jane Seymour.

    Hangover or what?:bbg:

Actually, she said "I don't know where the soda is, but if you find some could you bring me one too?"

This struck me as odd, because she was standing behind a counter like the other Marchon employees who were distributing beverages. It was then that someone asked her for her autograph and I noticed that the huge poster behind her had her picture on it...

Anyway, she seemed to be a nice enough lady- even if she never got me a Coke!

Okay.......Let me see if I got this straight. Lasik surgery is a procedure done on the eyes, so a person will not have to be dependent on eyeglasses/contacts. Correct? So if i'm not mistaken, actual seeing in done in the brain. So with that being said, this is a form of brain surgery?! It sure seems to be in this case!:hammer:

Oh my GAWD, Pete! Bet you wanted to die. If she were a cheerleader for your favorite sports team bet you'd have known who she was!

We had a National Sales Meeting a few years back and Sharie Belafonte (Harry's daughter) was there and she was autographing pictures. I asked her to sign my pic with the store location as I wanted to display it by her frames in my store.

My store was Colonial Heights, VA. She asked me how to spell it! I almost dropped over. I spelled C-o-l-o-n-i-a-l (I could imagine that would give her trouble), but then she looked at me and said "how do you spell the other word?" I about died right there! Thank God she's pretty!

:hammer: talk about spelling, i was once giving my name over the phone. The lady said first name and i replied Harry. She said how do you spell that. I replied HARRY. She said last name and i said Saake, she replied common spelling

Actually, it wasn't really all that embarrassing. I just assumed she must have thought I was Russel Crowe or something (for obvious reasons) and was just making conversation!

This isn't the first time I've met someone "famous" without realizing it. Years back while practicing in Gettysburg, I met and shook hands with Sam Elliott at a party. I knew he was one of the actors in the upcoming movie- Gettysburg- but when I described him to my mom she said "You realize he's been in almost every decent Western ever made?!!"

Unfortunately, I'll have to admit that I'd probably be more charged up meeting someone like Dick Cheney or Rick Santorum (R- Penna.) than an actor/actress. To your supposition concerning the cheerleader, if a Colts cheerleader were to come to our office in uniform- yes, I imagine I would be the one to dispense the eyewear (after many, MANY adjustment checks!).
    ;)
Now, if I can just arrange to serendipitously "bump" into Victoria Principal, Thandie Newton, or Catherine Zeta Jones...

Ok, I wasn't going to post this but you leave me no choice. It's clear you need help - and fast! If you still prefer Cheney over Jane Seymour after seeing this, than all hope is lost!

    Well Pete,

Your virtues have served you well. You are truly a real man despite what these other wolves in sheeps clothing have told you ;) Chad would have never left the booth if he'd been there though. ;)

Jane is a very lovely creature though I must say.

Okay, okay... no mas! I'll admit, if I were stuck on a tropical island, I'll take Ms. Seymour.

Um, actually... if she had been dressed like that I may have ended up at the booth all day as well!

BTW, having watched (again) The World is Not Enough, I'd like to add Denise Richards to my list of "bump into" women!

First, although I now have a refraction of OU -0.50 sph, my unaided VAs are still 20/20 (and I'll take that over the -4.75 20/??? I used to have any day).
Second, what really makes a woman attractive can't be found in a casual glance anyway (cue the violin music and dim the lights, folks). Sure, beauty is great- but it is common. One need only visit a trade show like Expo to realize this fact. Take away the acting talent (and I've never really seen Ms. Seymour in a movie or on TV) and she's just another attractive frame rep working for Marchon...

Last Saturday night we were in the Marquis lounge, discussing the days events and Bev started talking about Pete and Jayne Seymour.I had to ask who was Jane Seymour? Don't feel like the Lone Ranger Pete, I didn't have a clue either.....and still don't but whomever is above me in this thread is a comely lass!

Let's put this to bed once and for all...

Okay, fine- I met an actress and the best I could come up with was "Could you give me a Coke?"

Just to set things right, let's just suppose that Marchon had chosen this actress instead...

Immediately, I would have realized that the woman in front of me was none other than Alyssa Milano and I would have pitifully coughed out an "Oh my gawd, do you realize just how incredibly gorgeous you are???" while staring open-mouthed in an inappropriate way. There, would that have been a satisfactory response?

Cindy, when I lived there, it was spelled "Colonial Whites...!" And, it was.

I walked by the booth, saw the line, noticed the lady, saw her name, thot she looked a little old and walked on.

From the pix, had it been Alyssa Milano, I would have gotten in line.

There were much prettier ladies at the show.

    Pete,
It is my understanding that a BIT hungover is an understatement! I heard something about a lap dance from a waitress and being lifted into the cab and forgetting where one was sleeping that night??????

    I could have been misinformed!:D

Reports of my level of intoxication have been greatly exaggerated! Well, okay not all that exaggerated, but I didn't really DO anything- honest!

I think I learned my lesson about wine (which I don't usually drink). It is not simply grape juice, and it DOES (in enough quantity) eventually catch up with you!

PS- I didn't do anything crazy, I walked under my own power and facilities to my room, and caught some TV before drifting off to sleep (as opposed to passing out, as Darris would no doubt suggest).
