Was the Paddy's day festival in New York on today?
Yes, Ian, the St. Patrick's Day Parade was today. They showed snipets of it on the television news shows. It was a happy and solemn occassion as it paid tribute to the 343 fallen fireman from 9-11. I was watching the news and evidently the New York fire department is built on a long history of Irish immigrants.
Glad to say my great, great, great.......grandpappy was an Irish immigrant.
