Going to Albany for the practical next month, need some help!

Hi everyone!! Is somebody here a newly licensed in NY?? I really have some questions about the test in Albany!! I need to know for example what kind of frames to take and if I can say the "temple" word at all!!! People that have taken the test say they "have to hear" certain words like, guard arms, end piece, hinge...(not even sure about that one!). I also need to know if I have to name each tool I am using for the adjustment besides saying what I'm doing and why. Can I say "bending down or up"? Or I need to use a different word for that too? I have a couple more questions but I am going to wait for a nice person to reply and than I look forward to talking a little more! Thank you so much!! I am nervous....!!!:-)

It's been a while, but I proctored those in the past when I lived in MA.

I would suggest converting:

bend up - retroscopic
bend dn - pantoscopic
I would also name the pliers,

retro/panto - endpiece angling pliers
nose pad adjustments:
you are adjusting for
splay
frontal
vertical

all using european nose-pad pliers (or, euro-nosepad pliers) (explain while you are doing it).

Verify open-temple angle and closed-temple angle, ect...refer to chapter 9, System for Ophtalmic Dispensing, either the 2nd or 3rd edition, it will have the lingo they want to hear.
