There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

You do traditional glassblowing? There's an awful lot of that going on here in WV. I'm just a few miles away from Blenko http://www.blenkoglass.com/ a few hours away from Fenton http://www.fentonartglass.com/
also a few hours away from my favorite one http://www.ronhinkle.com/online-gallery/indexHP.php . At Ron Hinkle, I visited and was talking to him about the old Devil's Fire design, which they do, and had him make me up a special paperweight in my colors while I watched. Had to promise not to tell anyone how they did it, but it isn't too hard to figure out. http://www.oldsouthjerseyglass.com/short%20articles.htm#DEVIL`S FIRE PAPERWEIGHTS

Now I have to get up there again as I have a neat idea for a new design for a paperweight. Also had a nice discussion with Ron about designing a special tool to insert unmelted color chips into the center of a melted ball of glass.

Yes I do -- but I have to go to a studio to do it -- the equipment (and energy) costs are far too high for an occasional blower like me.

I've been wondering about your avatar, is it a blown paperweight? I'll have to find pictures of my work to post some time.

Yes, it is a blown glass paperweight using glass canes. I'll see if I can find a pic of the Devil's Fire paperweight.

Here's a bigger picture of my avatar. And the Devil's Fire paperweight.

I have 8 pair. Only 2 in sun wear. All others in Office lenses. I believe we sell what we wear, each of my 4 opticians and 2 receptionists as well have at least 3 all with current RX.
Patients always comment on our eyewear and opens their eyes to the need for multiple pair.

Staff is required to have current frames no discos and we must have 1 on the board.

I have about 12 complete pairs in my current RX... but I have more lenses just for trying them out... I'd hate to count.

1 pair Tag Heuer Grey polarized NXT Autograph Attitude
1 pair Tag Heuer Grey polarized NXT SV

Total personal frames includes about 15 diff pair but that includes 3 - 4 that my daughter has misplaced. I'll move a dresser or chest someday and there they'll be. But I have Three pair that I've been holding onto for dear life. I just keep re-lensing them. They're Armani's from like 1989. I got them new at the time and have worn them non-stop since then and they look like the day I got them. Man they don't make them like that anymore. Original screws and everything. Of course it doesn't hurt that they're owned by an ECP either.

I currently have 26 pairs of prescription eyewear. I'm a high myope, so my last few prescription changes are all within tolerance of my current RX. Let's see if I can recall them all from memory:

    12 Prodesign Denmark (1 sun) including 3 4612s and 2 4629s in different colors
    3 Nikes (1 sun)
    3 Jhane Barnes
    1 Ted Baker
    1 old classic Jeep Micro
    1 Lacoste
    1 Safilo Verge
1 Ooh La La de Paris
    1 Ralph Lauren
    1 Oga
    1 Paulo Pilipe

I also have about 8 non-RX suns from our current vendors. You have to wear them to sell them!

I only have one in my current RX but about 10 in my last rx, Im here in Texas and none of the reps seem to be givng out vouchers even at the seminars anymore like they used to, I guess due to the economy?. My lab will give us 4 Opticians one pair a year, so Im told. How are you guys getting the vouchers?

Not enough. Mainly I just wear my rimless John Dear frames, and I'll be very sad when they die since I can't get them anymore. But I do have somewhere in the range of 5 pairs with my most up to date RX plus non-RX sunwear.

Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.

On April 28th, I'll be marrying my best friend. I can't wait!

Sweet! I've been slowly leaking my old styles to Lions Club.
