    Wanted: HOT FINGERS

Anyone have an old Hot Fingers they want to get rid of? Time to learn a new skill.

    Thanks!

Good luck. Sold mine a few years ago - still find the occasion I wish I hadn't since them seem to be like gold.

You should try hidden hinge repairs with a soldering iron. No, it isn't quite as easy (I've used Hot Fingers many times), but the soldering irons are cheap, and they'll do the job.

I posted an instructable on how to create a hot finger with a soldering iron (file directory), keep in mind the heating process is not as precise as hot fingers but since there would be a learning curve either way you might find it easier to use the soldering iron since you have no experience either way, giving it a shot with a soldering iron isn't going to set you back too much something like $15 to $25.

I've used one of these to pull out hinges and guard arms:

I still use my 38-year-old Vigor SM-800. I just use an older carbon to really heat up the hinge and remove it and then heat up the new one and insert. Did two last week.

Nice find! Considering I've regretted selling my Hot Fingers at least once a month since selling them, this is a great find.
