Still venting, let me tell you some more.
Customer comes to desk w/ rx fr. "indep. dr next door" --
    Freshlooks clear or color.
    OD -1.00
    OS -0.75

I'm sorry but I feel the point I wanted to make was not expressed correctly.
*customer wanted to order 3 diffrent colors of -1 diopters
*when i explained she had a diff. rx for ea. eye she said "the dr said she could just go w/ the -1.00 for both eyes & it would be ok".
*long to short, cust. asked if rx needed to be wrote like that, I replied that I was sorry but that it did, cust. nicely walked 20ft to dr's to re-write rx, cust. was fine and gracious-no-problem.
*when cust. walked to docs'-- my mngr. said something to the effect of: who cares what eye she puts the cl in when she leaves and why didn't I just sell her the OD only CLs?

This is the same mngr. who would jump my guns for subsituting focus n&d w/ air optix N&D...duh!

The refractionist next door said a stupid thing about it being O.K. to use -1.00 in both eyes, IMO!
As an experiment, wear a -0.25 CL on your left eye for a day and tell me how you like it! (Fitted by a certified CL fitter of course)

As far as your substituting the Focus N&D with Air Optix N&D....did you do that without a contact lens fitter refitting/supervising the substitution, or are you just assuming "it's OK" because the CL manufacturer said so? There are a multitude of reasons why that can and does go wrong!!!! Any discontinuation of a lens automatically should mean a refitting is to be done by a qualified/licensed contact lens fitter, and a supervised follow-up is in order as well....

I agree, your mgr seems to feel threatened by you and your knowledge. That being said, have you tried asking her a question, (even if you know the answer) to make her feel a little more comfortable around you? (Make sure it's a question you know she knows the answer too.) It can be hard to work with someone everyday when you feel that you are being questioned, belittled, over-written, etc. but try to make the best of it and put yourself in her shoes for just 5 minutes a day. Also, look for another postition where your expertise will be appreciated.
