I am a TN licensed Optician and I might be willing to relocate if needed. If I relocate, I would like to go to GA, FL, NC, or SC. Most of these states accepts other state licenses. hey Keri, I ran the optical department for North Carolina Eye Ear Nose and Throat in Roxboro North Carolina in the early part of 09. It is a small optical shop in an Ophthalmologist office. You have to have a contact lens license( NCLE). After I left, they could not find an Optician to replace me. They are still looking. It was a great place to work, great pay, people and hours m-f 9-5, no weekends! Call the office at 336-597-3937. fax your resume to 336-599-1214. I live in Ohio and thought I would move there, but my wife didn't like it as much. I am sure they would welcome with open arms! Brian

Don't want to burst your bubble, but if you want to work as a licensed optician in any of the states you mentioned, you will need to be licensed in each one. There is NO reciprical agreement with Tennessee from these states. As someone who wants management, you need to check out the criteria to see what you will need to do.

Licensure not necessary to manage if someone in office is licensed (Doctor or Optician in office) in Florida. Not sure about other states

Wal mart, Costco and Sams are always looking to pay very well to licensed managers in NC. You can't find one here, I will PM you a name.
