    Well done on making featured member of the month :D
    You have shown many a member that knowledge of optics is not a prerequsite to having a good time here... I wish you well in whatever career path you take, but with an attitude like yours you it be a success, whatever you do.

    What a great surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I am very proud of you this morning.I would have missed it altogether if Jo hadn't PM'd me.You have been a more than welcome member on Optiboard because of your contribution.You have taught us all a lot about your country by sharing your knowledge....to say nothing of teaching me to drive on the left!

    Little does Sean know that he will be able to congratulate you in person June 20th! Yes folks, Ian is coming to spend the summer on Cape Cod, so if you are in the neighborhood stop in and say hi! We're in the book!

    How I became HoHo.....the short version

    The initials of my first and last name are HJ.Many of you will recall the resturant chain owned be and named Howard Johnson.We used to call these resturants Hojo's.At some point during my son's formative years he began refering to me as Hojo.I was not thrilled with this and let him know it.The more disenchanted I became, the more he kept it up.Over time, it stuck.....and gradually I began to accept it.

    What helped a lot with that acceptance was the fact I had 2 Grandchildren calling me papa hojo.That, I really liked!Lo and behold, a couple of years ago a third grandchild arrived and he's now just over 2 years old.He is learning to speak but His version of Hojo....is HoHo.I sort of like it better because he drops the papa in front of it.When I saw him last, just after Xmas, he had learned to blow out birthday candles.I have a picture of us practicing that which I will attempt to attach.
