    In Christ

So Im at work yesterday and I get an email from a guy who is simply responding to a proof I sent him of his resume. (remember, i work in the printing industry) and his e-mail basically says:

    NIght Train (not really),
The proof is fine. PLease procede. Thanks

    In Christ,
    Joe

In Christ? What does that mean? Is he bragging that he is saved? What does it have to do with his proof? Is he trying to spark an interest in me in spiritual matters? Why do people end their corespondence this way?

Night Train, I have seen this once before, in a "letters to the Editor" column in a local newspaper.

It baffled me too, but I think it might means that he sees some bond with you in religion and you are together in christ. I wonder would that be right?

If he signs all of his letters this way, I think it actually takes alot of guts for an average guy to share his beliefs in Christ especially if he isn't sure what others believe.

"If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father."

I have seen people sign correspondence this way, but they were usually clergy. I just thought it was their way of saying they are a "sales rep for God".

    NT,

It's a shortened version of "brothers in Christ." The "brothers" part is to be understood by believers. I figured you of all people would know that ;)

Or it could be short for 'In Christ we serve', which was what we had written on our school uniforms, in English, for six years.
