    Practice help...:cry:

    Our office has been at it's current location for 25+ years and was recently bought out. We have a quite large patient base but only have a doctor in fridays and every other thursday. We do recalls and do a little radio advertising but still can't justify even having a doctor in two days a week. Does anyone have any ideas to help bring in patients or things that have worked for you?

    The company that has bought you out... have they changed anything? Email or mailing the database to introduce the "new and exciting" changes... or if they are one of the big boys letting them know it's still the same staff, doctor, friendly service etc. Are they going to change your stock over? What about a 'fire sale' on the things they don't want anymore.

    how about offer Free eye exams with purchase for maybe once a month or something

    We have changed names in the same location more than a few times due to ownership changes, franchising and defranchising. The one thing you must stress to your patient base is that "Nothing has changed". We just did it in January and just before we did a large and colorful postcard went out to every single address letting them know that the same staff, same great service and same doctors were still right where they always have been. Send extra recalls as well with the same sentiments.

    You may have to re-introduce yourself if you have had a lot of population turn-over. How many of your pat's. are repeat pat's.? Have you always only had a Dr. in so few days a week?

    we haven't franchised or anything. The shop was an optical place before and had several different doctors in and out. Most of our patients are repeat patients or ones that followed the current doctor to this practice. We're still kinda starting out and trying to stay in the black so the free exam as of now really isn't an option. We are the only practice in the area that takes the Medical Assistance for Wisconsin so a majority of our patients have that for insurance. Any ideas at all that would help boost revenue or 2nd pair sales would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    I love Rice Lake, what a beautiful place to live!! (I'm from Duluth orig.) Even thought of moving there and opening a place last year. Sorry to hear that you are having difficulty. Hav eyou tried putting little articles in your community news paper (like the penney saver)? You can do different ones each month like a focus on Kids for back to school, Safety Eyewear for home, etc. Thant might bring in a few more people.
