    I don't get it.

It seems like too little, way too late, and in a BOGUS material.

I thought that one of Younger's strong selling points was the Trilogy lens material? Why not introduce this lens in your claim to fame?

Sorry CEO, I ain't buying it. It seems way too late to the party, out of touch, and kind of cheesy at this point.

    Diopterman,

Well, you know progressive lenses are always a series of compromises, and short corridor progressives are even more so.

Younger hesitated on bringing out a short corridor progressive for a long time now, since as a rule short corridor progressives are so full of compromises, the designs aren't very good for the user. It's really taken some recently acquired technology by Younger, that has broken us through and enabled us to come up with a very good short corridor design that has 160° of clear vision in the distance, more usable area in the distance plus the intermediate, plus the reading zone... than any other short corridor progressive.

Polycarbonate may be the first material Adage™ was brought out in, but it certainly won't be the last.

If someone wants to make the argument that the last thing that's needed is another front sided short corridor progressive, I might tend to agree with them, however, there was no question that Younger has had constant demand for a short corridor front sided progressive, and we just wanted to hold off until we could do something very special with it, and this is what Adage™ is. A very well designed short corridor progressive, which makes it pretty unique.

By the way, in the first month of release, Adage has way surpassed our expectation for this early after release. Believe it or not, there is still large demand for well designed, front surfaced products, and although Poly has its pluses and minuses, it is still the most popular material in the USA.

So that is really the long story behind the Adage™!

I commend Younger for waiting until they could release a design that was an improvement. As Dave states there is still a market for a front side short corridor PAL and the Adage is one to consider. We have gotten good results from them.

Given the success of the image I am glad that younger waiten until they could do it right. I get poly, more sales are in poly so it's the first to market, but I expect other materials to be available as this lens is incorporated into the portfolios of the masses. I can't wait for the CR and transitions.
