As i undestood it they had taken samples from his brother or other relative to use..
A while back there was some key Al-Quida people killed on a mountain top in Afghanistan and they have thought it was him. I think they are asking for the DNA to confirm or refute it was him killed.

What could they possibly need DNA for?...........i did not know it worked with charcoal. But i guess they could always try carbon dating.
