Had a pt. come in to the office today asking for "Transgression" lenses...

hmmmmmm... wonder if that would be a progressive transition or some kind of deviant lens I haven't heard of yet

I think those are similar to the Variflux Transmissional lenses with Crystal Light.

Ahh yes. The new Transgression lenses. They managed to get Tiger Woods as their spokesperson. Supposedly the lenses help you not see what an **** you're making of yourself while you cheat on your spouse.

    Speaking of which.....

Wouldn't it be great if someone were to actually make "Peril Sensitive Sunglasses."

c'mon, someone has to have read Douglas Adams.....please?
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.

You mean the old Optyl Christian Dior sunglasses they used in the BBC version? Discussed in another thread. Of course some of us know what "Oh, no. Not again" means.:bbg::bbg::cheers:

No, that's the new Confessional. Marketed toward clergy members.

Of course, none of these should be confused with Transitionals, which is what I've heard people in our industry call Transitions.

    Customer: Do you have transgressions?

Me: I'm not politically correct and I speed way too much...

What was really embarrassing was when the patient pronounced it correctly, just asked what it was, and my "boss" couldn't say it right, and did a crappy job of explaining ..... ~sigh~ Needless to say, that job didn't last long for me!

Transgression lenses are the ones that the big E fishes out the receding marshes and are the only natural product they sell...........but they smell bad.

Transgression was not accompanied by near-shore erosion of barrier, paralic, or fluvial deposits, nor by development of transgressive disconformities within the transgressive sequence, nor by deposition of transgressive sand sheets. Progradational pulses that might account for the generation and preservation of the barrier, paralic, and fluvial deposits are not apparent in the Longford-Kiowa record.

You didn't hear..... In order to maintain a sponsorship of a PGA Tour related event, Transitions Optical invented these new type of lenses to aid golfers in not bringing any more reproach to the game and their sponsored event.
