    Thumbs down SUMMIT CD problem

    I decided to use this design, if it works, why change it.
    Perscription:
    OD +5.0sph+1.0cyl90ax add 2.00
    OS +4.0sph add +2.5
    Index 1.67, suntech 2.0 SHV
    At first, i asked to order it via "optimalization" but it but calculation result was radius 70.
    I calculated r60(it fits)+1mm ring equals 61mm
    Ordered r61 RE
    r65 LE
    To my calculation it should be RE 5.5mm LE 4.5mm CT
    It came with 5.4mm CT both so LE is no good.
    Trouble is, I'm in Serbia, and have to order lenses from a dealer who said that that is normal, so I checked with HOYA EUROPE, and it's not.
    HOYA doesn't work in my country directly, just with this dealer, so what should i do?
    Who can I complain to?
    I think that dealer doesn't understand what I'm talkin about at all, that witchery with radius mumbo jumbo.

    Since I got no reply on forum, but got on PM I have to specify some things for others:
    It's HOYA original product
    suntech = photochromatic
    SVH = super high vision
    Dealer only distibutes lenses
    Any help?

    Hoya does sell summit blanks so if they just get the blanks from hoya and make them at that lab, the only person you can really complain to would be your lab, in my opinion. Kind of like yelling at essilor for a jacked up walmart ovation.

    As the other person said, you will have to complain to the lab. Also, I would speak about a plus lens in terms of the edge thickness and not the center thickness. Obviously if the center is thicker, the edge will be also. Did you edge this, or did it come completed from the lab? In the end, if the thinnest edge is thicker than the rim of the frame, it's too thick. I'm not sure about the optimization parameters, but you can easily calculate minimum blank size and final edge thickness based on the frame and rx details.

    I don't understand, i thought i bought lenses from HOYA.
    They were made in HOYA factory.
    Left lens edge thickness is 2mm, Right lens is about 0.5
    I didnt ask for that.
    I used this method:
    calculated minimum radius and asked for thin edge to get thin lenses
    Right lens is very good, left is faulty
    HOYA in Great britain said that left lens should be thinner, but HOYA factory in Hungary called to say with threatening tone that i shouldnt talk with nobody then them, and that GB person who ansvered to my inquery will have problems now.
    I came to a solution with my customer, so 200$ is not wasted, and it's best to leave it like that for me.
    Of course, HOYA people in Hungary ansvered that everything OK with lenses

    You and Hoya UK are of course correct. Perhaps you should try and open an account with Hoya in another country than hungary, maybe Italy or Germany? Having seen some shocking jobs that UK residents have had made up in Hungary because they were cheaper than the UK it doesn't surprise me. And we're talking doozies like drilled rimless where the screws haven't been cut and capped, varifocals glazed the wrong way round.etc

    Complain to your hoya rep or go above the lab to the corporate level. Tell them exactly what is happening. Be precise. I bet they will fix the issue.
