Are these the same products but just different countries are they different in some way?

looks the same as Crizal Avance to me, just under a different name
Forte is supposed to be far more scratch resistant. That is the difference. On the Bayer scale, the Avance scored a 5 where Forte scored a 10
I don't know. Essilor was advertising it pretty hard up here.
Maybe it is Colts then.
I put out a call to Pete to weight in here since no one seems to know for sure. :)
Forte is a much better A/R coating, everyone at Essilor says so and we should all only use Forte because of it's obvious benefits such as it clearly being the best on the market when compared to other things on the market that may or may not be similar in nature, but since it's from Essilor and it's their latest A/R of the Crizal family then we all should buy it because we all know that Crizal is the greatest thing ever until the next Crizal comes out which is always better than everything else that Essilor makes because Marketing says so and we don't even compare to other companies because Essilor either owns them already or are in negotiations to buy them so you'll end up giving Essilor your money no matter what so you should just buy the newest Crizal because it's soooooo much better than the old Crizals which are the best coating on the market even though they aren't quite as good as the new Crizal but you can use them anyway because some Crizal is better than no Crizal since it's the best that Essilor makes and that anyone makes and that anyone ever will make until the next Crizal comes out which will also make your teeth whiter and your hair look better and really that's what's important especially since 90% of all the money Essilor makes is taken by their Marketing department which has developed it's own separate atmosphere and ego and also is beginning to show signs of independent thought and their Marketing department will come up with the next Crizal coating and it will be so much better than anything else ever even though what Essilor has now is the best that can ever be created.

There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.
I love the Crizal Alize, but I think it would be so much better if they came out with a version spelled A-L-I-Z-Z-Z-Z-E.

I really liked the original Crizal...I think it was called "Aliz-Heeeeeey!"

I love when people complain about certain weakness in Essilor's products, and then when Essilor fixes those problems (ease of clean, more durable, scratch resistance, ect) people bash those solutions.
I found out; Crizal Avance with Scotchguard and Crizal Forte are the same product. Crizal Forte is the name for the product when sold outside of the United States.
So then you must be refuting Happylady's proclamation that they are the same product, seeing as how you've indicated two very different Bayer test results right? I'd love to know where I can go to get accurate info regarding the answer to this thread's original question??

Essilor released Forte sometime last year. I guess it just updated the product in the US under its current name. That is not the problem. The problem is when people bash Crizal for not having the scratch resistance similar to Super-Hi. Then when it matches it, people bash that decision
I think the main problem is with their marketing, as well as Varilux. Each time they come out with a new product, they'll have you believe it's perfect. Until they come out with a perfecter version, only then to be supplanted by a perfecterer version, which gives way to a perfectererer version which....well you get the picture.
