Confused Optical shop setting up mac bookkeeping system

excuse caps but i have a massive migraine.....easier for me to see.

established optical shop i work in is considering setting up
mac laptops to not only get online with catalogs but down the road for receipts and lite bookkeeping. Owner is mac, workers are pc proficient.
so......does anyone have any experience on a good mac program that
handles our optical shops ...not sure if the owners bookkeeper will
accept the data in mac ......formulating the data at this stage but close to purchase.

    any help from the experts?

Or try GrowCMS. as that may work also. Goal Software is the only MAC Practice management Software I'm aware of. GrowCMS is Linux/online based and may be an alternative.

Without trying to be a jerk, I'm curious as to why you'd go Mac. Mac Vs PC Zealots aside, there are still way more options available for PC when it comes to programs, and you said it yourself, the staff is PC proficient, and in the end, it's them who is going to be trying to use it.

I went through this same process when I opened. Wanted a Mac system for the office figured it would be fast and reliable, plus I new my kids could work on their homework when necessary. In the end ended up with a PC. Cost being a factor as was the lack of software. I dont regret the choice and would recomend that you go with a PC based system. PLus, when the time comes for IT help, PC guys are a dime a dozen.

You might try QuickBooks Online, which, being browser-based, should work on either Macs or PC's.

    I'll second that.

Easy to use. Your data is safe. It's easy for the boss to control who sees what. I believe that you may be able to access your files from your cell phone (or will soon be able to.) Low cost.

The only problem may be HIPAA but a phone call to Intuit should resolve that issue.

    A winner.
