    What are your hot frames?

What frames do you have that just fly off the board? You know the ones that fit well and look good on lots of people? (based from a previous thread back in 2008)

What frame is hot for you now?

Also what frame styles are you selling a lot of? Are you noticing any new trends?

We favor Juciey Couture (safilo) and Ted Baker (tura). Altair has a great consignment program for the more blah frames. When in dout buy alot rimless! :) Your opticains have to be excited about the lines and that is the most important thing.

FreeForm Rimless hottest line this year by far.

Thalia and Kensie for young ladies have both also done really well for us. Prada is a constant good seller, Gunnar is picking up steam, aside from that everything else is just earning its spot, nothing is flying off particularly just doing well enough to keep in stock.

Lafont is a huge seller here... also a little known German line...Schnuchel--Made by Dr. Wolf Schnuchel sell like crazy here.

Right now, in my area clunky acetate is big, along with heavy p3's and 4's.

the are there to help computer vision syndrome. there is a slight correction in the lenses off the shelf (i think about a +.25) which is supposed to help ease some strain from extended computer use, the curvature of the lenses is to allow less airflow across your eyes to keep them from drying out as much (since your blink rate drops significantly during extended computer use), the yellow tint helps with contrast while looking at a digital display, and the AR to reduce the reflections being created since you are now wearing glasses.

They help, i will wear a pair if i know i am going to be at my desk all day. I also gave a demo pair to a friend at the local BMW dealer so far he has had nothing but positive things to say, as well as the T-mobile call center employees we have fitted with them recently.

They can be Rx'ed, and their new sun styles are great (supposed to help with outdoor digital display use, but come on, they just wanted in on the sunglass market) quite a few look better as suns then as regular glasses anyway.

Its a big initial investment, we have the large free standing display, and after close to a year they are finally starting to build some steam. Marketing hasnt been as great as we were told it would be, but they are moving forward.

I did very well with Humphrey and Brendel this past year. Unfortunatly their merger with Tura has made getting product a little difficult latley. I think the retro look is getting hot, I am seeing more men wanting the P3 shape and a deeper zyl frame.

The staples, Flexon for men, Kate Spade for women. Kliik were going strong and have settled down. Lightec and OGA for men are always good. Prodesign for men and women that are bit more exciting in nature. ECO and Marchon M- line great for budget minders. Silhouette are our go-to drill mounts, Line art flopped in our area. Sides just were a giant bomb! Fysh are good for the stylish types like the Kliik and PD.
We just brought in LaFont and ZeroG ... both we are glad to have and the ZeroG have moved well especially at a two four modifier. Modo's have crashed along with OGI, Calvins, Tura and Valentino and a few others.
Thats it in a nutshell ...

Prodesign, Kate Spade, BCBG. Prodesign 4612 is so popular I stock it in four colors.

    Redhot Jumper hot?

    Trick question!!!

Assuming you don't carry a lot of junk you've had laying on your counters for 5 years..(although the same holds true, it just won't last)

Whatever you, your opticians, your O.D., your receptionist etc.. et. al. are excited about today..

That's what will sell the best. Sales / salesmanship is pure need -vs- desire and entirely motivated by the buyers level of excitement. That will be hugely affected by you & your staff. Keep the excitement high, promote your high-profit lines, have fun!

Now, all the lurkers, flame on and spiel about your super-optical skills at fitting and how optical is not retail or whatever. It will still be true.
