Head mounted eyeglass frame OR eyeglass frame holder

    Hi,

    I have a tough one!

I have a customer ( a surgeon) who requires a head-mounted eyeglass frame OR eyeglass frame holder. This head mounted device would presumably be some type of band that would fit around the circumference of his head.

    Suggestions greatly appreciated.

re: Head mounted eyeglass holder or eyeglass device

    Hi,

Thank you for your suggested link.

No, the pictured item would apply constant pressure on the surgeons nose/bridge area, therefore, he has requested a head-mounted product that has a band that wraps around the circumference of his head whereby the eyeglasses "drop-down" in front of his eyes. In this manner, there would be no discomfort after performing multi-hour long operations.

I think that Franel optical {out of business} did have a post facial surgery/rhinoplasty strap on eyeglass frame. I had three or four of them, but have sold them off over the last few years.

I don't know if Hilco may have one, I couldn't find it on-line.

    I'll keep searching.

I have EXACTLY what you want. It is used for nose job pts...accident/burn pts with facial/nose damage etc. It is a flseh coloured plastic band that sits on the forehead and wraps around the back of the head. The lens supports hang down below this and do not touch the nose or the face at all. The frame front is hinged for panto angle etc.

I can send you a pic but not until Monday(camera not in the office).

Are those the ones that sit on your brow ridge and are counterweighted at the back end of the temples?

The link is just a photograph. I don't think it is a solution for you (dispenser) unless your surgeon wants to have his eyeglasses attached to his nose by body piercings, like this:

Those look similar to, but not exactly like the Dior Optyl sunglasses that Zaphod Beeblebrox had (in the BBC version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) that had been turned into the Peril-Sensitive glasses that turn dark when peril is around so you won't see it and be bothered by it. Almost as effective as a towel when confronted by a Ravenous Bugblatter Beast from Traal.

Actually, it was my older brothe, he had the BBC radio show on cassette and tortured me with it every time I got in the car. It was a great series, and certainly better than the TV show or The Movie.:hammer:
