Did you see the Shamu kills Jaws video?

I was on the treadmill watching Nat Geo. channel. A sightseeing boat was near the Farolans , west of San Francisco. Great Whites congregate there this time of year. They're eating the seals. A couple of Orcas was doing the same thing. All of a sudden and on camera, the Great white heads for the Orcas. A bunch of swirling water ensues as the battles rages. Then the orca surfaces with the comatose Great White in her jaws. She holds the shark upside down which causes it to become catatonic. The whales have learned evidently to ram the sharks and, while stunned, to turn them upside down. When they are inverted, the sharks lose ability to move and the whales have learned to take advantage. The shark is evidently asphyxiated by being held motionless and out of water. You can see this video by google search or you tube

You can do the same with an alligator - hold it upside down, it will sleep, then die if left upside down. It's brain is not immobile in it's skull, when upside down, the brain sags and the blood flow to it stops.
Sharks cannot pump water through their gills, so they are constantly in motion to flow water through them, never stopping for their entire lives. Merely holding a shark motionless in water will eventually kill it. Note that there are so called "sleeping sharks" that do hover over a spot on the ocean floor, but they can only do so when there's a strong enough current to flow water through their gills.
SEE??!! Some of my Zoology major in college still remains.

    Typical...

Hey, I even listened to NPR today, even though their lethargic, monotone talking almost puts me to sleep. That's where I heard the story about stuttering...
