Having trouble with angles with 30' by it ...
e.g
convert this angle into a prism dioptre
2 degrees 30'
How do you do it? i thought it was tan 2.30 then times 100 ...

You need the prism index also
prism dioptre = 100 tan ((n-1) A)
And 30' is 0.50, not 0.30
put it in decimal.

Comma's got it right, 30' stands for 30 minutes and just like an hour contains 60 minutes a degree contains 60 minutes, so 30' would be half a degree or 0.50.
