    Frame Facts

    Hi,
I am a passive observer of your site (find it quite interesting) and I learn quite a bit from it (thanks). I represent an eyewear distributor with a more unique product line that is currently not in Frame Facts. I know not to speak of pricing so let's say ALL my products are beyond the standard compensation for VSP reimbursement.

I am trying to learn of the benefit to my retail partners to have these items listed in Frame Facts. Will it help you, and if so how? Are there any "cons" associated with listing there?

Just curious....thanks again for your "optical insight".

Haven't had a subscription to "frames" in at least 10 years. So it wouldn't be a plus for me at all.

    Helps me

Prior to going electronic, I used Frame Facts all the time. Very helpful when you're looking for a frame you don't stock. However, since going paperless, I think there may be an even greater draw for you to list your frames there. We, like a lot of others, use Officemate Enterprise as our primary software system. Their frame inventory system is based completely off of Frame Facts. Users buy a subscription and can load the Frame Facts disk information to automatically download all frames they intend to inventory.

From my point of view, if a company is not available there, it is a huge headache for me and I would be less likely to put in their product.

    FWIW

I'm gonna agree with DC Optix. I also use Officemate, and the Frames Data CD is immensely helpful (I've used Compulink in the past, and had Frames integrated in it, too). We do carry a couple of lines that are not listed, and occassionally I'll get in a new frame that's not listed, either. For me to manually enter the color and all the measurements of each frame takes time, and I frequently have frames waiting to go into stock because I don't have the time to start that project, knowing I'll get interrupted.

I also like to be able to look up a frame and know all the sizes and colors available, not just what I've got in stock. My catalogues aren't at my fingertips, so I want to tell the patient what colors are available, and if none of those sound interesting, I don't have to go find the catalogue. Most companies are putting their catalogue online anyway, which is convenient for me, but annoying if I'm trying to show a patient colors and they have to come around to look at my screen. But it's better than nothing. . .

Hi All, I am also seeking a FRAME FACTS or FRAMES DATA price book from the mid 1990's (any year and any quarter). I am willing to pay $150 for it. Please send email to DrRobert@eyeworksgroup.com if you can help. Thank you!
