    Nice Frame~Horrible cases...

We will not be using many of Kenmark's Kensie cases.

They're a rectangular bulky box made out of cardboard!

Honestly sometimes I wish the mfg's would just take 25 cents off the cost of the frame than send some of these disasters!

What are some of your favorite cases that came with the frame but you'll never use?

How about the Gucci sunglass cases that are faux leather and look like the face of the original Gort from "The Day the Earth Stood Still"? I always found those rather embarrassing.

I don't know, they might not fit the new carry-on dimension limitations for the airlines!

For a short period of time Takumi had fold up triangular cases that I think were some type of cardboard. They were awful I call manufacturer and made them send me different cases!

Where have I been the last 10 minutes? I was gonna say the same thing.

The last shipment of Gucci frames I ordered had cases that stunk to high heaven. Seriously toxic. I had more than one person want a different one because it stunk up her purse.
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

I cannot stand the zippered cases, they are like rubber and the zipper breaks all of the time.

Plus if they use the case they have to get the lenses in and out past the zipper.

Our Kenmark rep has told us he will exchange the cases for another style. Still waiting but he did take care of it the last time when I complained about the giant kidney shaped TMX cases. Now we get Timex cases with all of our TMX frames. A&A also has the most garishly colored and cheesy cases ever, all the same for all lines.

That's not true, the XXL cases are simple black and silver, yes they are are little cheesy with the silver pattern pasted on, but I wouldn't call them garish. But this does remind me of another case that I can't stand and that's A&As Alexander collection (unless I'm getting a different case then you) the case we get is a cloth zip bag that's about 3 sizes to big for any of the frames that I seen in that collection so far, the case can probably fit the Tura 311 in the two smaller sizes (51, 54) though you could probably squeeze the 57 eye into that case as well. There is so little padding on that case, I'd have more confidence giving the patient a slip in case then that case, and the frame staying in 1 piece for more then a year.

Many of you have the Betsey Johnson neon pink metallic jobs coming out of Legacie? Yowsa! My retinas have to go into rehab for a week after seeing those things. And yeah - they're too small for probably 98% of the frames in her collection. Brilliant move there Betsey! hehe :shiner::shiner::hammer:

My mistake, I was thinking of the cases from Lauren Eyewear. Same rep so I get them mixed up.

I don't know who even uses cases outside of the "reading glasses" crowd. I can take my glasses off before bed and feel reasonably assured that they'll be okay on the nightstand, barring an earthquake.
The whole marketing thing with cases and interchangeable lenses will never be mainstream, because despite what 20/20 magazine may tell you, no one wants to make wearing glasses an integral part of their lifestyle. It's as stupid as offering "chic" cases for an asthma inhaler--there's nothing cool about a medical condition, and poor vision is a medical condition.
Yes, the sweet case may help make the sale to some brand-deluded idiot, but in my experience no one who wears glasses all the time gives a rat's *** about the case unless they're a complete tool.

D&G had HUGE square box type of cases that were wayy to big for anyone's purse or pocket...although it did make a great coffin for my daughter's dead hamster. She only went in style!

    Redhot Jumper Cheap...............

All this complaining about the packaging the frames are delivered..........

There was a time when the most expensive frames came in cellophane or even light card board boxes....................and the opticians purchased cases from a case supplier.

I'm willing to stop storing manufacturers cases any time just give me the word! especially since I order every frame per job.

    Happy New Year!

I think the point is that there is a certain expectation when you purchase something that it should be of quality commensurate with the price. A cardboard box isn't worth more than a few cents, so I believe the complaints are valid.

How about Sides Eyewear? Big, gold lamé cases and another for the sides. Pull those out and everyone thinks you're in Sha Na Na.

and then companies learned how presentation helped create an impression for people. A case is part of the branding. If I am a company trying to promote my frames, the case is a great opportunity to take that brand and help move that name up the patient's evoke set.

It sounds silly, but nice packaging can make something ordinary seem unique
