    Polorised Peeloff

A customer is showing me a polorised goggle is showing some peel off like surface. It shines. Looks like some chemical spill or liquid was applied which caused it. What may be the chemical ? Or might it be plain heat ? What may be antidote to restore the damage?

If it is on the surface than I suspect it is the scratch coating failing, the polarized layer is on the inside of the lens. Depending oh how the lens was processed it could de-laminate but that is not what it souds like.
Anyways, it cannot be repaired, this requires new lenses.

    Ditto.

No repair option exists. The lenses sounds like they simply need to be replaced. Some goggles will do this on the back surface if they are cleaned when wet. Others may just be a bad design from the start and will fail with minimal use. Another culprit is an uninformed consumer cleaning the lens with a harsh chemical - often ammonia based products like 'Windex' here in the states. It can work well on glass home windows...but is murder on ophthalmic lenses or goggles.

Either way - it's a great opportunity to sell this pt. a new goggle lens, and to properly educate them on cleaning techniques. All the best!:cheers:
