P.S. I believe more "red" states than "blue" as a rule get back more than they contribute in Federal taxes. Someone more savvy than me should be able to find the statistic--Ohh Spexxxy---:)

Why is it that people always applaud more and more tax cuts when the government does not have the money to cut them?

He seems to hate Govt. spending in general. ;)
Just the spending of imaginary money. I think lobbyists should be outlawed, 3 time repeat violent offenders should "disappear", and the electoral college needs to be dumped. Oh yes, and we should write off the national debt and move forward from here-running no deficits at all. Other countries don't like it- oh well. Also, the U.N. needs to leave the U.S. Our armed forces should come home, protect this countries borders and go to work building things we need here. Have i missed anything?

Speaking of Oz I always liked to think of the book/movie as a metaphor where Dorothy represents America, the Scarecrow farmers, Lion military, and Tin man industry. Oz is government (the emerald city reached by the gold paved road.)
The author saw the turn of the 19th century as a time when America was about to become the world's leader supplanting Great Britain.
At the end of the movie Oz (government) is about to literally take off with Dorothy (us) on board. We have second thoughts and jump off pleading for it to "come back-come back".
To which Oz replies "I can't. I don't know how the darn thing works!"
Yes, to paraphrase Jack Nicholson: reason and accountability.
Has our government kept it's reason and accountability in mind while burrying it's grandchildren in impossible debt for the last 100 years? Where does it all end and who is going to finally say enough is enough? Because if the government(us) is not willing to do it then I would like them to cut me a check right now for things I simply cannot do without. Don't ask me to justify the list of what I think I need, hell Congress never seems to require that of their requests.
BTW-- I love that Flick! What if this as good as it gets??!!!

I can't help but think if it was a Repub Prez doing all this it would be "responsible spending" and "long-term help and accountability".
But, since it's not, it's irresponsible and useless.
I guess President Obama could have done nothing, like President Bush, about the economy and let everything fail. Wait - that's not fair - Bush did do something - he spent us into deficit. Also don't forget that a lot of the bailout money has been repaid or will be soon. At least the Bush bailout money for GM and Chrysler (again).
