It's a great idea, but why would someone put up a site that looks like that? It's like handing in an important report on crumbled toilet paper.

I am thinking optical road trip!

    Seriously!

Is there anything else in that area that would be of interest while visiting? When I say interest, I mean optical or beer related.

    Are you serious?

I thought it was pretty darn cool!

Just curious... what's so bad about it?

And I don't think it would cost us much to stay. Harry J lives just down the street, and I'm sure he'd have no problem sleeping on the couch while we took ovedr the rest of his place! (If he thinks it's difficult maintaining control here, wiat 'till he meets us in person!)

From mid November through May I live in Charlton just a few miles from the museum and the old plant AO. Anyone who is seriously planning a trip may contact me at dick@aerovisiontech.com. We could get together for a nice cup of tea.

Fezz, there are a few microbreweries in the area and the Gentex polycarbonate plant is about 10 miles away.

Jacqui, I'm afraid its probably not there anymore. If it is still in business you would have to speak Puerto Rican to get served. What was the name of the joint. I will drive by and see if its there.

Dude who cares! I'm thrilled by it's content and the AO Technical reports that he has there are priceless! He's a lens guy not a web designer.

I spent a few days at the old AO plants there in Southbridge about 5 years ago. Even had a chance to look at some of the museum items and such. I throughly enjoyed my time there. A great foundation of the optical industry as we know it today was forged there. It was a great example of American ingenuity and manufacturing spirit.

That a plant employing optical people way back then would be so conveniently located near a booz joint! :shiner:
