    scratch coatings

Does anyone know how to test the scratch coating for good quality on a FSV cr-39 lens? Are they all pretty much equal?

Colts Lab use something called the Bayer abrasion test. I think they scrub the lens with a piece of steel wool. In my experience, Seiko has one of the better ones. They are definitely not all equal.

They are not all the same. I like Indo the best, but others have other opinions.

It will make a difference if you specify a non-tintable coating vs. a tintable coating. Non-tintable tends to be a more abrasion resistant.
