    Confused Please Help

    Dear All,

Please help me to clarify the below doubts:-

    1. Can you suggest a PAL for a squint patient?
    2. How to take PD of a squint patient?
    3. Which PAL you suggest for a better adaptation. A normal or a short or extra short?
    4. Will you suggest a PAL to a one eyed patient?

All the replies will be highly appreciated

    1. is it a permanent squint or is intermittent? how about the patient binocular vision? if permanent squint with normal binocular vision i will prescribe.
    2. for all the PAL lens just take a monocular PD. same here..
    3. usually soft design is easier for adaptation. depend on the Rx and the patient motivation on trying the new lens.
    4. yes, if PAL able to help him.. also wil suggest him a polycarbonate material since that is his precious eye.

    hope it helps...

An older person that needS bifocals or progressive and has a squint is an ambliope who has very low vision on the squinting eye, will only need a balance lens and no need for PAl.
