    Progressive for cyl -7.0

I'm trying to find a supplier for progressives
    +8.25 -6.50 X 95 / 2.25
    +8.25 -7.00 X 80 / 2.25
Norville used to quote them but won't anymore. Varilux, Zeiss, and Kodak don't go that extreme. Any help and/or experiences appreciated.

    Thanks

    Peter

Has this patient wore a progressive before? I would think it would be a nightmare of a lens for a PAL. I think a FT would be a better situation.

I Dont thick you will get any problems whit Pal

I Dont thick you will get any problems whit Pal, but there are no firms that can make that high cyl. have to make them as much you can and hope for the client can use them. or what would do, a contact lens and a Pal on top of it.

    best regards

Patient is a long term contact lens wearer with good success but suffering from GPC so needs glasses to reduce contact lens usage.

Current lens made by Norville to exactly the same spec other than minor increase of +0.25 in sphere. Reasonable success with current lens but combination of frame and lens poor hence request to replace.

    Will pursue schulz

    Thanks

The Physio 1.67 goes up to +9.00 sph power, the Gradal Top 1.60 goes up to a +10 BC, and Gradal individual 1.60 has a +9 and +10 BC, but the cyl only goes to 6.00 DC. One might cut the prescribed cyl to -6.00 and modify the sphere to compensate (sphere equivalent). A bit of a compromise, but this Rx in a PAL is already a big compromise; the addition of an atoric grind might be make up for the residual astigmatism, and in the right eye you might come out ahead considering it will only be off by .50 DC.

What design is the existing PAL?
