A patient who was a previous non-adapt to Poly recently complained of one of his CR-39 lenses causing starburst from lights at night. I had thoroughly checked for waves because of his previous problems with Poly. He dropped them off when I was on vacation so my co-worker sent them to our local lab to check. They also could not find anything wrong in the lensometer. Again, I couldn't either until I looked at the lens against an incandescent light bulb.It looked like the surface of the left lens had a thumbprint on it and in putting on the glasses and looking at the light, I could definitely see more starburts off this lens. I assume there is a defect on either the base scratch cote or 1 of the AR coats. Any thoughts? I definitely could not see this thumbprint when looking at the lens in front of a fluorescent light and it's only on the one lens.
