    Tips on getting things done

    QUICKLY at VEW.

I think I need three of me. :hammer:

I already have my suite appointments rounded up for a full day on thursday and friday.

That leaves me ONE day for CE and the floor. :o The floor consists of new instruments as well as stock.

Any VEW masters out there that may have some tips for getting it all done in time?

    1. Spend the first day skimming, and make short quick visits to the booths you have an interest in. Don't make eye contact with the folks with overflowing bowls of candy. Don't buy anything the first day, unless it's something that is of limited quantity.

Stick to your mission! If someone talks to you, and you do not plan on buying, they are STEALING from you! Keep walking!

    2. Don't eat. You've got the rest of your life to eat, and Vegas never closes, so eat later.

    3. Don't socialize. (See number 2)

    4. Meet with your friends over drinks after the first day, and find out what you missed.

    5. Go back and look closer at the narrowed down vendors.

    6. Buy only after you've visited your vendors the second time.

    7. Don't get dressed up. Nobody cares about your high heels, unless you work at the Revolution booth.

First off, are any of those say 10 suite appointments (my estimate, 5 per day) lines that you see reps for the rest of the year?? If so, cancel them, and move on.

I also do somewhat like Johns said, Thursday AM I walk the entire show floor, mostly seeing what piques my interest. If you do stop to look at something, do not let them scan your badge as you will be bombarded with info for the next year, calls, E-mails, fax, etc. Use fake second badge ordered just for this reason, scan that one. One suite appointment late Thursday is all I have booked.

End of the day, it's "un-expo" time, get together with others and see what you may have missed, any special items you say an interest in, and also any very good deals someone else may have gotten. Alcohol is necessary for this process to really be successful.;)

Friday AM, proceed directly to vendors from un-expo, make purchases, done by noon for the size of the Vegas show. Off to do the tourist thing and see some sights. If you are feeling faint, this may be a good time for one of those cheap buffet's most casino's offer, 1/2 hour time limit, and move on.

Saturday will have some deals, especially if they didn't have a great show. Avoid buying just because it's a good deal, and not really something you need. Show floor will be noticeably less crowded, people have left, rep's are tired and grumpy from standing for three days. Time to swing over to the Mirage for an afternoon Tiger viewing, or check out the pool area at Caesars Palace.

Whew!! All done, plenty of time, 10 hour flight back to East coast, swear I won't go back next year from the flight. Next day, book hotel for next year.
