My father , Rtn Kishabhau Godbole, 66 ,got elected as a District Governer of RotaryDist.3030 for 2003-04. He is rendering selfles,dedicated services with zeal and the enthusiasum to the society nearby us since last 25 years. Schools for Blind , Deaf & Dumb students, Home for Lapers and the Tribal Peoples in Melghat , the Jungles nearby are some of the benificiaries.
He has devoted himself 100% to Roatary since last 5 years, calling it a day as an Opticain. He had kept his own requierments to the least and offers whatever he can to the society.
We all are very proud of him. A Local Lions club felicitated him at our home tonight.

We have a big problem in convincing people to stop such "Worshiping" sort of felicitataions and join hearts, hand and wallets where it's needed for the cause of the deprived.
It apperas to be much convinient and easy for mankind to creat a god and worship him, and leave all the responsibiltites on him!!

Many Congratulations to your father! It sounds like he is very, very generous to those who need help. At least those people celebrating your father's accomplishments will gain knowledge of those people he has helped and perhaps help more themselves. Here too in the US charities spend money on banquets that could go to other uses but it does bring attention to their causes.

You said he was an optician himself; you appear to be following in your father's footsteps. Not only with regards to opticianry but in the wise words you have brought all of us since you have been posting on OptiBoard.
