    Eye Injury Statistics


    • Of 72,268 facial injuries resulting in lost workdays in the United States in 1999, 53,096 were eye injuries.
    • Of the 53,096 eye injuries, the two most common types of injuries were chemical burns (5,659) and cuts or punctures (4,303).
    • The top three eye injury sources were chemicals and chemical products (7,907), hand tools (4,215) and parts and materials (4,097).

    Don't Forget To:


    • Brush, shake or vacuum dust and debris from hard hats, hair, the forehead or the top of the eye protection before removing the protector.
    • Avoid rubbing eyes with dirty hands or clothing.
    • Clean eyewear regularly and ensure the protector is in good condition.
    • Ensure eye protection fits properly and will stay in place.

    I saw two different people within 1 week that were both significantly injured and could have been avoided. Both had open globe penetrating injuries with corneoscleral lacerations traumatic aniridia, aphakia due to traumatic cataract and s/p vitrectomy, lensectomy, SO and scleral buckle.
    Major bummer when you know this could have been avoided.

    Heah, in Jackson dey seems to prefer Guns, Knives and simple surgeries that ended up in a lot of complicated surgeries.

    Chip

    Left out the bottle rockets, paint ball guns, bb machine guns, siblings stabbings with sissors and knives. A few thrown rocks. Fights with other women (yes women), more to come as they come to mind.
