"The Other Side of Free Form"

This month's 20/20 magzine has a great article about the possibilities for lens production and design with free form technology. The author, Mike Walach, is a briliant optical guru. I learned a lot from his article. I hope you do too!

I had no idea Michael was able to write so well :D If you've every heard his accent you would never guess it.

Michael if you read this, I still owe you a lamb dinner and the SGX with the static nozzle is still running.

I think we're just at the tip of the iceberg on freeform. There will be many, many things done with it that no one here can imagine.

    Road Trip

    Thanks Fezz

I am looking forward to visiting Michaels at his lab this coming Monday afternoon (he is about 2 miles west of our HQ building).

He called me today with some questions on lens materials. We had a great conversation and he invited me over to see his direct surface lines.

I love his accent and cadence of speech, remind me of mom's relatives in Cleveland in the 50's and 60's!

Jim, Please pass along my regards when you see him. It's been a few weeks since I've heard from him.
