    Do:
    Online forum subscriptions
Food (There is a local business that offers home delivery of locally produced food and produce via online ordering. Slightly higher prices, but less expensive than tracking down all the different items individually. Plus I would rather keep as much money local as I can)
Occasional 'gotta have its' on Ebay
Occasional 'didn't know it existed, but have to buy it' items from the deal of the day sites

    Do Not:
    Just about everything else

I really prefer to see who I'm dealing with when possible...at least on the home front!
A lack of planning on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on mine!

The only difference I see between the two lists for most of us is that we buy on line what we trust and we would rather see the others in person.

So what is your point For-Life

that is my point. I cannot see a strong majority of the population wanting to buy frames online without seeing or touching or trying them on. Therefore, the online market for frames is not a tremendous threat to us.

That's what I thought. I don't se it as a tremendous threat either. Anyone who wears their glasses full time and relies on them to see clearly is not likely to buy on line. Part time wearers may. People buy their reading glasses at the dollar store too. Doesn't bother me.

Yeah, we have a lot of people who buy reading glasses (not the cheaters) and they just want the cheapest pair. There, you have your online sale. You have people who are comfortable with buying fitted clothes and shoes online, another online optical patient. But numbers wise, it is small.

Now there's a scientific study. Nine out of ten optical employed people do not fathom buying eyewear on the Internet.:hammer:

Actually, I have done and read many scientific studies on this. My thesis for my MBA was about online buying. I published two studies on online buying. I have read probably 200 studies on what people do and do not buy online and why.

This was not supposed to be a scientific study, but instead encouragement to get people thinking a different way.

    No kidding!:finger:

And how many of those that said they never buy glasses online, have purchased frames to RESELL online? Are not vendor sites considered "online sales"?
