    Definity?

I generally use the Unique or Autograph lenses for high end progressives and the GT2 for midlevel... but the GT2 doesn't come in trivex and I noticed that the Definity lenses, which are in the same VSP category as the GT2 do. I like trivex a lot for patients with moderate astigatism and patients who are getting drill mount frames (and don't have high Rx's).

That all being said, how do the Definity lenses stack up to the top-of-the-lines and to the GT2's?

    Thanks

At the risk of getting some more heat from Pete......

I think its the best lens on the market today! Its my go to lens. I wear it and love it. My customers do too! DEFINITY has eliminated problems associated with other designs. One customer told me it was a shame first time progressive wearers will never know how good it is because they won't have anything to compare it to.

You will have a difficult time if you try to switch designs down the road because they are measurably better than other designs. You cannot go wrong with this lens.

    Good Luck with them. hj

This is one of my favorite lens, too. I probably use the short version the most. I have a pair and it is very comfortable to wear, not swimmy at all. Mine have a +2.25 add and I forget I am wearing a progressive when I am wearing them. It has a great intermediate area, too.

The negative, I think the reading area is okay but not huge. And I don't like it much at 15 high. I try not to fit it below 16 or 17.

    Thumbs up Great lens

I also find it to be a great lens and its a Digital progressive too but does not require the Crizal coating like the Varilux 360 lenses do. I will use the Definity short to fit the narrow frames. Have gone with 15 MM height without issues.

Definity / Definity Short is a great lens - very wide reading and intermediate area.... all of my patients are very happy and see the difference almost immediately.
