It's about 5 hours from Dallas.

Would you mind taking a side trip for me and checking something out there?

He'll send you his GPS, so that will indeed shorten the trip.

Actually, I think I went there last year, with my son and his friend navigating from the back of the van.

    GPS? Purely for wimps...

Johns, The town doesn't have the worlds largest confederate flag....

You'll have to find material elsewhere to make that spiffy suit you want.

Its about 250 miles from me. A little too far for an afternoon road trip.
A lack of planning on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on mine!

Yeah, that's what my in-laws said when we moved out to the country, but one Christmas that just HAD to visit (all 59 of them) and ended up getting snowed in w/us for 2 days.

We moved the next year, even farther out, and that seems to have done the trick...

So 250 miles is too far huh? Do you know anything about the area? The demographics say that 14% of the population is living below the poverty level, so that would be a step up from the rest of the country.;)

Looks like a nice little town.

No Optician, OMD, or OD in town.

You looking to start another office?

No, my son turns 13 next year, and my wife wants to buy him a cell phone. I wanted to buy him a town instead. She loves Texas, so I thought this would be a nice compromise.

    Just to clarify...

I don't want to give the impression that I could actually afford to buy a town, but he just turned 12, and I've got a year to save up. Plus, I've been hearing all kinds of stories about how difficult the the teen years can be, so I figured that if he was the mayor, or sheriff of someplace, it would keep him so busy he wouldn't be able to get into trouble.

Albert's for sale. Got a dance hall, ice house and beer garden. I bet Fezz would volunteer as tavernmeister!

Might be a nice place if we decide to relocate the world headquarters of FezzJohns Inc. You gotta love a town that has an event calendar that consists solely of the open times of the bar!
