I just wanted to have different thougths, if we had one balance lens (OD) with one PAL lens (OS) which was prism thinned 2BD. Wouldn't we induceing 2BD in OS? Taking in to considration that no prism prescrpition was prescribed in OS. :hammer:

Yes, there would be a 2D prism imbalance. Most of the time there is such limited binocularity in the balance eye that it shouldn't be an issue. Try holding a 2D loose prism in front of the right eye and see if the patient even notices.
Depends on the "balance" if you have light perception in that eye or are not aware of the degree of CVA than you should use prism thinning OU, as well as making the balance ALWAYS sphere and no cylinder if they do.;)

WOW!! A post from Jeff Trail!! Welcome back!
I think the Trailman is right.
I think "balance" should be reserved for NLP eyes.
We measure central acuity, and if it's low, we forget about peripheral acuity!
Jeff Trail!! Wow! Welcome back.
