    Eclipse Blocker...

OK, so out of the blue this morning after 2 years of surfacing with only the occasional de-block in the SGX plus generator, I am now having some major deblocks in the generator when generating. Mostly the lenses are seperating from the wax, but occasionally the wax seperates from the block. Some just while cribbing, others on the first pass on cutting the curves, others on the last pass. What's up?? Help!!

Blue Jumper 2 years of wax, ......................

2 years of wax, maybe you should start a new batch.

    Chris...

Wax is looking good, problems mostly with poly lenses. I thought an older 9 flute cutter was the culprit. Replaced with brand new 3 flute for poly and problems continue.

Are you having any power (electrical) issues in your lab today? What is the incoming voltage to the SGX?

Has anybody modified the settings in your SGX?

I assume that this is not 2 year old freebond, but that you have changed out the freebond regularly.

Are the ambient conditions in your lab unusual today? Hotter, more humid than normal?

    Ok....

Nothing seems any different in regards to lighting, voltage(assumed, unable to check), as far as settings I'm the only operator so unless they can change on their own, no. HOWEVER... I did realize the jobs I was having trouble with were blocked 2 days ago and generated today. Is that not a good idea? Never did that before(block and leave overnight). ???

Yeah, leaving lenses blocked overnight is a bad thing to do, let alone 2 days.

Have you gone back to processing lenses blocked the same day? Has the problem gone away?

if its just poly, its the cutting speed parameters that are incorrect.. they are prob too fast.. Also ensire your chiller is not too cold.

    Reason

    1 cutter may be old
2 Wait for 13 mnts after blocking
3 See setting of eclipse for wax temp of resevoire and chilling plate temp
4 See depth of cut setting in sgx generator

make sure the wax is flowing fast enough when blocking. If this is slowed down you will have lens deblocking for sure. clean out with pipe cleaner or something similiar.
