Beautiful, College Educated, experienced Optican for Hire

I am an ABO licensed Optician and have been working in the industry for 11 years.

Currently I work 6 days a week and love what I do but unfortunately my office is closing and I am actively looking for a new position. I refract, dispense, repair frames, train new CL wearers, cut if need be and I am familiar with all insurance plans and medical billing. My main strength is my great eye for style. I can size up the perfect frame the minute a patient walks in the door and I am exceptional at selling seeing that I am a people person.
Please feel free to contact me if interested in seeing my resume or have any questions.

    Regards,

    Erica L. Goldberg

Why? she posted beauty as an attribute on her resume. You cant have it both ways, it's obviously an attribute the poster feels is a positive for the job task just like billing insurance, edging and refracting. Except beauty was #1 on the list.

Chip's just sizing up the competition in case he needs a makeover. :D

Sorry Jacqui, but I am with Braheem on this one. She posted it, so let the chips fall where they may. As a employer, this is one I sure would not touch.

And by the way, an ABO is not a license, so which is it, license in NY or just the ABO?

    Beautiful

Odd to post that on a job search. What counts is professionalism and knowledge. Beauty fades, rely on your brain and not your looks.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder anyway. "Attractive" would be a better word if you must indicate that you are not a woofer. One can usually deduce the appearance of the resume poster anyway by the confidence that they portray. Well groomed, stylish and confident employees who know their field well are always a welcome commodity, especially in sales. Arrogance however is not.

Might be odd to post that, but never kid yourself, it's got a lot to do with getting hired. Especially in prescriber owned establishments. It's no accident that most of the receptionist and office help are attractive women.

Well yes, actually I had to chuckle because we only hire "smart and pretty" people. Never had one claim it on a resume though.

You must be good. I usually have to see the prescription before I can help the patient select the perfect frame ;)

That was the problem with the GA1.1 model, the kinks have been worked out in the new Goldi1.2 model along with a few chassis enhancements ;)

    That is a given

I see nothing wrong with separating myself by stating an obvious truth. In no way does this undermine my intelligence, I am sorry if I appear a threat. Good luck to you all.

Hey, flaunt it if you've got it, I say. Who would you rather have in the office/lab? Some nasty looking guy with half a set of teeth, bad haircut and a license? Or a hot chick in a pencil skirt and nice blouse with a license? It's only unprofessional if you dress like a slut in the office, lol. Speaking for hot chicks, I vote for Option B. We bring in more customers.

Erica, best of luck to you girl :D

Wow. Now you've separated yourself by being even more cocky than before. I'd stop while I was behind if I were you.

Pretty girls know it helps to get the job, but appearing to cocky is not attractive. It only shows immaturity.

If she were a lab tech, I would hire her. Of course she would have to move to Frostbite Falls and the culture shock and pay difference may be a bit too much for her.

Me too, I like cocky. Lets face it if good looks and confindence could be order from our vendors it'd be on BO, she's got it and she's flauntin' it. I woudl be interested to see the type of position she lands with this approach, good luck girl no pic needed I find confidence beautiful.

PS - Notice the number of posts and interest in her post for a position, every time someone posts here it bumps her to the top of the stack. Good or bad advertising is advertisig.
