    Your source for news

Most Americans no longer subscribe to daily newspapers or watch the 6:00PM news. With the advent of 24 hour TV news and the internet we are all only a fingertip away from the latest news and opinion. What are your favorite, must see, media sites?

Of course my favorite optical news site is OptiBoard, but I use the Wall Street Journal and the FOX news web site on line 4 - 5 times a day.

    I go to the following:

    - Google News, which uses a mix of articles from different sources
    - Canoe.ca, which is a more conservative Canadian news site, since it is situated in Calgary
    - CNN.com
    - Local newspaper and television websites
    - Daily health clips - we get them in the office every day. They talk about health care and come from all news sources

I try to hear the story from all sources, and not just the more comforting political ones.

Funny to see that Canoe.ca let conservative journalists in Calgary express themselves freely. It's owned by Quebecor (Videotron) from the province of Quebec and is strongly known to be a separatist (and liberal) company ("independantists" as we say here).

They usually don't let local federalist journalists express themselves in their newspapers, websites, tv channels and so on.
Freedom of speech... as long as money talks...
But federalists don't have to worry, some canadian owned federalist newspapers do the same for independantist journalists.

Another exemple of our obligation to have different sources of information to be better informed.

MSNBC way too left for me.
    CNN leans left.
FOX way too right for me.

    between the 3,

I usually watch more MSNBC when it's a Republican Prez and I find myself watching more FOX now that there's a Democrat Prez.

MSNBC is sometimes disgustingly liberal and FOX is sometimes disgustingly hateful.

I subscribe to my daily newspaper and read it cover to cover over breakfast. I occasionally watch the ABC channel here for local and sometimes national news.

I rarely miss The Daily Show and the Colbert Report.

If you want unbiased news watch a foreign broadcast, BBC for example. Fox "news" is a joke! It seems more like a reality show than a news program. For the most accurate up to date info I choose "The Onion", which is still more factual than Fox news.

I'm old school and still read the rags.

The Boston Globe- Or as my conservative grandfather used to call it "that lying Irish Globe". Then he lost his job with (swear to God) Acme Transistor (precursor to Raytheon) during the first Great Depression. He remained a Republican but realized some government regulation was necessary.

    Also Google news.

I subscribe to the "best tip sheets on the planet" The National Enquirer and Globe.:o (As Andy Warhol confessed in his diaries--"It's ALL true".)

I concur with the above posters. CNN really gets up on its lefty-high horse sometimes, I never watch Fox News, as they're a bunch of fear/rumor-mongering tools.

My local newspaper has a pdf version online, so I can browse that as if I'm actually reading the paper (not quite the same though!), as well as our 24 hr news and weather station, Bay News 9. That's more for checking out breaking news around the area, not for any in-depth articles.

For un-biased, I just go to the Google News home page. Al-Jazeera is a good info source, if only for reading about news from others' perspectives.

I refuse to read or watch BBC, as they're responsible for forcing its UK users to buy tv licenses if they have a tv in the house, whether they watch it or not. They actually have vans that drive around neighborhoods, which have equipment to detect a tv inside, and if you're late on your bill, you get slapped with ridiculous fines. Big Brother, anyone?

Your one-stop shop for unbridled hate speech and smug head-in-the-sand "reporting".

And I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you if you think they're unbiased.

And they have a theme song!

No, actually I watch it some every day to see what the crazies are paranoid about this time. Every little word is scripted to be insulting to Obama and a group of selected Democrats. It's actually kind of sad, as sad as MSNBC is in the other direction. After all they're the same exact type of channel, just diametrically opposed.:shiner:

That is sooo funny. Think about that for a while. I will check back in a bit and see if you have figured out why.

I saw Obama on a FOX interview. He was whining about FOX being the only News that reported the negitive aspects of the job he was doing. Same kind of funny.

Fox took that one out of context. I saw the original interview. They were asking him about his opinions of the media and Fox News. He never complained about Fox, but did mention that they tend to never report anything positive about him.

    Makes sense.

I saw it as well. It could have been another of his missed jokes.
