    Bye bye Costco!

Finally, after nearly three years of not loving my job, I am moving on!
I put in my two weeks notice yesterday, and I am going to work for Kaiser Permanente. No more weekends, no more late nights....Yayy!

    Congrats!

So I assume you are retiring from the optical field?

Probably not, as they are one of California's largest healthcare providers, and have opticals. Had a person in just last week, and they were on hold over 30 minutes with the "call center", where they apparently send via computer all requests for anything. They were just trying to get a eyeglass Rx and it was a nightmare. Welcome to corporate at its best. Best of luck Sarah!

My friend, Mark Shupnick, does quite a bit of work with Kaiser Permanente. Maybe you'll run into him!

    Congratulations!

I hope you find Kaiser to be more enjoyable and fulfilling. It's not fun going to work when your heart isn't in it.

I know quite a few opticians in our area who have gone to work there and they all seem to love it!

Yeah, I dont feel like a "real" optician at costco, I cant get products for my customers that I know are out there, Not to mention my schedule is the WORST. with this new job, I might actually get to fill in for the Contact Lens Fitter now and then, which is what I really love doing, AND The family and I are actually going to be able to go to the beach for 4th of july because I wont have to rush back to work the next day! Yayy!

I remember my first job like that, worked 8-4 m-f. Took me about a month to get used to what seemed like a ton of free time, and just to get used to leaving.:hammer:

    Good for you!

I remember how excited I was to leave that place! I'm much happier now in my new job.
