Is a flat BC for a pilot made...

Professional pilot in a .50 base wants a clip, must be non polarized dark neutral sun lens (other colors for various light a bonus) that will leave no gap between the clip and the rx lens.

E-Clip says their flattest base is a +4 and will consequently leave a 2mm or so space.

Short of dedicated sunglasses any Optiboarders know of something?

(Oopps-Can't edit the headline- Meant to put clip after BC)

Talk to Johns. He does the custom magnet clips, where the magnet is mounted in the lens. I think they have a fairly wide selection of base curves.
A lack of planning on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on mine!

What's his script? If he's flat or near to it on his frame front or lenses, I expect he's pretty highly myopic. Does he ever wear CL's? What type of A/C does he fly precisely? Is he military or civil? Passenger or transport/cargo? What is his position on the flight deck? How many hours a day/week is he flying vs. other activities, and is he using these glasses at those times as well?

I can't think of a single situation for a pilot where the optics of a clip on would be in any way better than a dedicated sun - certainly never have run across it in my own flying at any rate. Just curious.

What about a mag-clip frame you can switch/put lenses in yourself? Granted, you'd have to have the plano's clips lenses ground on a plano/1.00 base, but you could do any color, non-polar. ( And mess with the mag/frame alignment)...
