Comparison's to Drivewear?

We've had mixed results at best with the Drivewear product. I haven't heard of this new offering. How different is it?

The new iRx Polaroid SOLFX Transitions lens differs somewhat from Drivewear. The biggest difference is in the polarized color choice. The new lens comes in either an Ash, or Caramel color. The Ash (Gray A) turns to a Smoke color (Gray C) when activated, the Caramel turns to a Chocolate color (Brown C) when activated. Does it change in the car like Drivewear does?

I like my Drivewear a lot but the lightest color isn't very nice to look at. It's a strange greenish color.

The iRx Polaroid SOLFX Transitions Sun lens does not change in the car, it is activated by UV light. However, the lens starts out in its lightest state with a highly efficient and relatively dark filter. The Ash starts out with a 35% light transmission, moving to a 15% transmission at its darkest state. The Caramel color starts out at a 30% transmission, moving to a 12% transmission at its darkest state.

Hey Melanin - I see you're in SLC too! Great to see another local. It sounds like the new lens is similar to the old Serengeti Driver photochromics? Apart from the color choice, the densities sound about the same. Would you say that's a reasonable comparison?

Yes, I am in Salt Lake City to! The colors are a little more standard (Gray and Brown) than the Serengetti Driver color. From what I remember about the Serengetti photochromics is that the new iRx lens has more of a dramatic color change. If you want you can probably request samples of the lens from iRx Polaroid at 800-366-1382. I am sure they would send you something for your reference.
