    Wow!

I just got home from the Transitions ECP Academy held in Richmond, VA today. I've been to my fair share of educational programs over the years, but seldom do I come home with as many ideas as I did today.

If you and your practice has not registered for the next one in your area, DO IT NOW! It's the best money you'll spend this year!

We were entertained, educated and inspired by Tim Fortner, Eric Rollins and Dr. Gary Gerber...all in the same day!

Information about the Academy is in the Newsroom at OptiBoard.

I would love to go, but they left out an entire section of the country. There is nothing between Columbus and Denver, so the whole mid section of the country is out of luck.
A lack of planning on your part DOES NOT constitute an emergency on mine!

Check the schedule carefully. I attended this meeting in Minneapolis so I know it has made it to the midwest.

It looks like they've scheduled one in Denver in mid-June. Call your Transitions rep and see how close they're getting to you. This is the inaugueral year for the ECP Academy.

    Hi Judy
Thank you for the feedback on the Richmond event. I am happy you enjoyed it and most all, took something away from it. The positive responses from the Academies held so far have been outstanding.

I will be attending (well, assisting with the event team) the event in Southbridge MA in May. There will be an additional treat in Southridge, Dick Whitney is going to set up a display from the Optical Heritage Museum. Once Dick heard we were coming his way he graciously offered to help out. The event will be held on American Optical's original campus, my first trip back to Southbridge in 10 years or better. I am looking forward to seeing and staying at the conference center that was built within the campus.

Bob and others with interest in attending an ECP Academy, what do you consider a reasonable distance for travel? Plans are still on for future ECP Academies...

thanks and have a great day,
    Jim

I am dead center in Texas. Anything outside of Texas puts me at about 5 hours on the road just to get to the border. Just about anywhere in Texas would be great. The closer to Austin, the better.

    Bigger clouds of smog.

    Bigger headache driving around.

Bigger hotel bill for supporting all those pro teams.

Bigger pain in the @$$ all the way around, I guess!

That's not smog, it's dust being kicked up from all the money we're making over here!

    Bigger headache driving around.
I've got a pick-up truck. I bet I could load 10-12 opticians on the bed and truck you around. ( plus 3 more if I drop the tailgate down.)

Bigger hotel bill for supporting all those pro teams.
You're all more than welcome to stay in my tin shed out back. Much cheaper than a hotel. ( only five bucks a night! Bring your sleeping bag, there is a linen charge. Shockingly surprising, Johns passed up my offer when he swung through Texas....)

Bigger pain in the @$$ all the way around, I guess!
Come on over Bob. I'll buy you a woopie cushion to ease your pain.

    :D:cheers::D
