    Mirrors and Tints

    Hi Everyone,
I am doing a bit of a survey here...

I worked the full day Friday at our VEE Transitions booth. We were pretty busy all day, made the day go fast with good questions...a few repeated questions got me thinking...

Several times I was asked about the flash mirrors out there and fashion tints.

Do you think that mirrors and tints are up this spring and what kind of mirrors and tints (colors, types (gradient, full, double gradient) requests or suggestions do you give patients?

    have a great day,
    Jim

I do some of the new Crizal Sun mirrors, and I wear the flash silver with backside AR myself. My suns run 99% polorized, so I don't do a lot of fashion type tints in suns, gradients etc...

I am at the beach, so polor is an easy sell here.

We've sold exactly one mirror in oh 3 months... and it turned into a remake.

The top 3 requests I see are gradient grays/purples in non polar plastics (like a lot of the fashion demos on the sun shelf) or gray poly polar.

Mirror coat, tint, transition and polarize lens are running here.. to me very important to understand what activity your client need. base on their requirement fit the proper lens. some may consider additional pair for certain purpose.

For those who spend more time doing outdoor activity polarize is our 1st choice unless high Rx then we may consider mirror with back A/R. but now we are have this Cocoons fit-Over polarize and we only receive positive feedback from our high Rx client.

transition mainly for those 1 pair for all but not those taxi driver or spend more time outdoor in vehicle or working at high altitude area.

tinting i do the least, unless certain eye condition who need extra tint for special purpose such as early eye disease condition. for that, light or 2 tone tint of brown will help.

As for weather in my country here, gray and G-15 will the our priority. brown mostly for elder client to enhance the contrast.
